From the pier the surf is stomach high+ on the sets. If you have the patience, you can catch a solid left that is pushing all the way through. Boards with a little more volume are favorable with so much water under the wave.
Currently winds are still pretty strong 15-20mph out of the NE. Winds will be 15-20mph out the NE today before turning more easterly in the afternoon.
High tide is approaching at 10:14 a.m., Low tide will be at 4:31 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 3.3 ft at 10 seconds from the ESE.
It’s drifty with some decent size sets. Otherwise you are just fighting the current. Sunday we have a Low pressure that intensifies rapidly in the eastern gulf that shoves off Northern Florida off the SE coastline. Winds will become a Gale from the ESE for our marine area and rapid building conditions to overhead victory at sea conditions before days end Sunday. As this system moves north there is a slight chance of a late evening cleanup session on Sunday. Monday we look to have some leftovers with winds remaining from the west keeping it on the clean side. This swell will be fading out all day Monday. High pressure then returns back.
NOAA Forecast: “A nor’easter will bring impacts to our region this weekend, followed by high pressure next week.”
Current water temp: 60*.
It’s cloudy and 56* this morning. We have a high of 66 with wind and clouds all day.
Sunrise is 7:14 a.m., Sunset 5:15 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
