Saturday Dec 2nd

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Waist+
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: Foggy

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Saturday December 2nd at 8:00 a.m.

The fog is thick right now. It’s hard to see the lineup but likely to be some surf. You can tell some water is moving on the inside. Fog advisory is in effect until 11am and then we see the fog burn off. Based on how flat it’s been, should be something to ride today.

Winds are light south this morning at 3 mph overall clean surface conditions. Winds are expected to stay fairly light all day out of the south/south-east.

We have a high approaching at 11:02 a.m. and the tide will drain out to low at 5:26 p.m.

The Edisto buoy currently reading 5.2ft at 7.7 seconds in SE medium period wind-swell.

Feels like it should be at least waist high right now based on the buoy report and the incoming tide. Worth taking the chance for sure. High pressure returns later on Sunday again keeping the surf down to start our work week next week. Only hope next week I am is a gigantic low looks to develop in the Northern Atlantic next week and sling a significant NE swell to Florida. So a road trip may be in the cards for the ambitious.

NOAA Forecast: “A cold front will approach from the west today, before passing through the area Sunday evening. High pressure will then prevail through much of next week.”

Current water temp: 59*.

It’s foggy and 63* this morning. The high is 70* with clouds today and a chance of rain in the evening.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back in tomorrow.
