Good morning, this is Charlie with your Folly Beach surf report and forecast for Saturday, December 14th at 8:45 a.m. from Second street.
12 Days of Stoke! Swing by the shop before Christmas and snag some deals you won’t want to miss.
Looks like the ocean has woken up… Definitely some waves out there today but super choppy and drifty. Paddle out at your own risk.
Doesn’t look like it’ll clean up too much today but looks like we will get some solid surf in the next couple of days.
Winds are currently out of the north-east at 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. The winds will stay in the north-east throughout the day getting up to 23 mph and gusts up to 35 mph.
We will have a low tide at 12:53 p.m. and a high tide at 6:52 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 10.5 feet at 7.7 seconds in an easterly swell.
The surf is definitely rideable today, but conditions aren’t ideal. Keep an eye on the forecast over the next couple of days, as there may be some windows where it cleans up a bit. This is a wind swell, so don’t expect perfect conditions, but there will be waves this weekend and heading into next week.
Our guys and gals at NOAA predict a “High pressure will extend across our area into the first half of next week, while a weak trough remains just off our coast. A cold front should impact the region next Wednesday or Thursday, followed by more High pressure.”
Water temperature has dropped to 56*.
It’s 54* and windy this morning. Look for a high of 61* and some of that wind to pick up throughout the day.
Sunrise was at 7:14 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:15 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
