Waves at the Pier are waist to chest high in a South/south-east wind swell.
Winds are east/south-east at 5 to knots. Surf is bumpy, but there are plenty of nice, punchy sections. Expect surf to clean up just a bit, on-and-off thought the day in frequent spurts and rain showers.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 12:50 p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:37 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 7.5 ft. at approx. 8 seconds in a south-east wind swell. Plenty of swell at the bouy, and there should be waves all day.
A storm system effects our area today and Saturday, pushing up mostly choppy pre-frontal, south wind-swell in the waist-to-chest high-plus range. Surf could clean up from time to time with some rain throughout the day. This swell fades out Sunday after another cold front passage, but there could be some colder long-board leftovers on the incoming tide Sunday mid-morning. Surf should be small to start the work week, but there is some surf on tap for the weekend, so get some if you can.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A storm system will affect the area into Saturday. Dry high pressure is then expected to prevail through next Wednesday before another storm system possibly affects the area.
It’s a cold 61* and foggy this morning. Look for a high of 65* today with rain.
Water temperature has dropped to 57*.
Sunrise is around 7:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:15 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
