Waves at the Washout this morning knee high. Maybe a thigh set. It’s not looking very inviting on the low tide, with a high north-east angle on it.
Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf zone is clean.
We see west, south-west winds at 10 to 15 knots by mid-afternoon, and this will add some texture and bump to small surf later today.
Tide just started coming in, and high tide will be at 2:04 p.m., and low tide will be at 8:21 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 feet at 14 seconds in a long period east, south-east ground swell pushing against a west/south-west wind swell 4 feet at 5 seconds, so not much swell out there.
There is some north-east swell out there, just passing right by Folly Beach. This looks to continue into the upcoming work week. North-east swell should build mid-week as a series of low pressure systems moves into our marine area and north-east winds increase. As is usual with this time of year, Florida will be getting some swell, but a lot of it will be passing by our beaches. High-angled, drifty north-east swell will build Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: Cool high pressure will build in through early next week. A series of low pressure systems will bring unsettled weather Monday night through Thursday night. Arctic high pressure will build in Friday through the weekend.”
It’s a chilly 48* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 60* today with clouds moving in this afternoon.
Water temperature is now 59*. Brrrr
Sunrise is at 7:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:16 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
