Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, February 12 at 8:30 a.m.
We are fully stocked with Catch Surf Beaters, logs and single fins. Come get one while we still have a good selection.
Surf at The Washout this morning is flat with a knee-high set.
Winds are west at 3 to 5 knots, and surf zone is overall very clean.
Look for winds to continue south at 5 knots this afternoon with a gust to 10 knots. We see an overall semi-clean surf-zone today with some bump in small waves later today.
Low tide will be at 11 a.m., and high tide will be at 5 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 ft. at 7 seconds in a medium period south-easterly swell, with a west/south-west wind swell pushing against it, so not much surf today.
Surf is looking pretty dang small today. A cold front will pull through the area on Super Bowl Sunday, but it’s still not really looking too promising as far as creating any meaningful surf ahead of the front. Looking pretty small through Tuesday. On Wednesday, there should be some meaningful surf ahead of a cold front when on-shore flow increases and sends in a typical, pre-frontal winter-time swell with bigger conditions and southerly winds keeping things choppy. This trend continues late into the work week, so keep that on your radar.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region today. A cold front will pass through on Sunday, followed by high pressure into the middle of next week. Another cold front will impact the region late next week.”
It’s really pretty nice at the beach. It’s 50* and sunny. Look for a high of 60* with sun and increasing clouds this afternoon.
Water Temperature is around 52*.
Sunrise is at 7:05 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:02 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
