Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set. Maybe slightly bigger. It’s soft. Bring the high volume board, and there are some fun rides to be had.

Winds are north at 5 to 10 knots, and surf is side-shore but clean.

Look for increasing north winds at 10 to 15 knots, going north-west this afternoon. Surf zone will overall be pretty clean as we see swell fading out later today.

High tide will be at 9:20 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:32 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:44 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east ground swell with a short period north-east wind swell reading 4 ft at 6 seconds.

There are some small, clean south-swell leftovers on Saturday morning. Look for north-west winds this afternoon keeping some small, fun surf in the water as south swell begins to fade late day. Winds go strong north-east Saturday night, and we see high-angled north-east wind swell fill in Sunday with some drift and chop. Still rideable. High pressure sets up to our north-east off the mid-Atlantic states early next week, and we could see some small, lazy trade wind swell with slightly cleaner conditions Monday though Wednesday of next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will build into the region this weekend and remain the primary weather feature into early next week. A cold front could approach the area from the west in the middle to latter part of next week.”

It’s a nice morning. It’s cool. 49* with bright sun. Look for a high of 59* with sun today.
