Good morning, folks, this is Lily with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, February 22nd at 8:45 a.m.
Sea and Sand Festival starts today, if you plan on coming out to the island just remember Center St will be closed off. If you don’t plan on coming out to the festival, but still wanna drop by the shop, our side entrance is on W. Erie Ave. We also still have a selection of items on sale with discounts up to 75% off so come by and check it out!
Unfortunately, it’s died down out there from earlier in the week, it’s about as flat as a pancake right now. We should have some good weather next week but not much hope for surf. Maybe a slim chance of a little longboard wave later in the week, but not a whole lot happening.
The winds are currently coming from the NNE at 8 mph with gusts up to 14 mph. Winds look to turn more easterly throughout the day as winds speed slowly decrease.
We had a low tide early this morning at 9:00 a.m. The next high tide will be at 2:46 p.m., followed by a low tide after dark at 8:50 p.m.
Edisto Bouy is reading 2 feet at 9 seconds medium period swell out of the east
Our guys and gals at NOAA predict that a “High pressure will prevail across the region through Sunday. A weak disturbance will pass to our south Sunday night into Monday, followed by High pressure through Wednesday. A cold front should move through on Thursday.”
The water temperature is around 56*
It’s 42* and windy right now. Winds should calm down around 11 a.m., with sunshine and a high of 52* later on.
Sunrise was at 6:55 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:10 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
