Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, January 18th at 9:30 a.m.
It’s ___. And it’s a chilly rainy day.
Winds are currently e mph from the ESE. Later this evening winds go southwest and pick up in speed to around 15 mph with gusts of 20 mph.
We have a high tide at 10:47 a.m. The next low tide will be at 4:52 p.m.
Edisto Bouy is reading 2.6 feet at 5.6 seconds in a SW short period wind swell.
Flat today, but some strong southwest winds kicking up overnight into Sunday morning. This may give us a quick windswell with a possible clean up just before sunset with strong winds out of the west. Keep your expectations low. Still eyeing midweek for a chance of snow and some sideshore surf on Wednesday. Thursday could have a little something to surf on. Basically you would only be doing this to say you went surfing while it snowed.
Our guys and gals over at NOAA say: “An area of low pressure and associated cold front will impact the region today through Sunday morning. Another low pressure system could impact the region early to mid next week.”
The water temperature is around 50*.
It is currently drizzling and 52*. We have a high of 54* with clouds and rain throughout the day
Sunrise was at 7:21 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:38 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
