Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, July 1st at 8:45 a.m.  It’s the weekend, be safe!

Surf at the Pier this morning looks fun as the tide heads out. It’s about thigh high with some waist high sets and super clean. The bigger board may better, it’s a little soft.

Winds are light north/north-west at 2 knots, and surf zone is nice and clean.  We see winds rotating to the south-east at 5 to 10 kts this afternoon. Expect choppier surf and continued trade-wind swell  as the tide comes in late afternoon.

We have a low tide at 12:20 p.m. high tide will fill in at 7:02 p.m. Next low tide is 12:34 a.m..

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 9 seconds in medium period southeast ground swell.

Another fun longboard surf today. If the wind stays offshore into midafternoon there may be a little push that could be fun on the bigger boards. Looking ahead, the end of our week looks to stay small with a chance of decent trade-swell from an offshore high pressure into Sunday. Early next week, we see typical summer south-west wind swell filling back in. Tropics are quiet for now. Well keep you posted.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through early next week. Upper level disturbances could affect the area mid to late next week.”

Water temperature is around 80*

Its 82* with plenty of sunshine this morning. It’s humid. Temps will eventually climb to a high of 84* with sunshine persisting.  It’s going to be a beautiful day at the beach.

Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
