Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, July 2 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a big shipment of Gary Wilson board, with lots of mid-lengths and longboards in the mix. Come get a summer board.

Waves at the Pier are waist-stomach high with a bigger set.  It has been fun this morning.

Winds are west at 7-11, and surf is fairly clean but starting to get a little bump as the winds pick up

We are expecting winds to from the south-west at 10 to 15 knots, We see choppy surf on the increase later today.

High tide is at 10:45 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:34 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at 7.7 seconds in a medium period east/south-easterly swell. We also have a southerly windswell  running 4.6ft at 6.2 seconds.

Some fun surf out this morning. Looks like a small southerly trade-wind swell will build today into your holiday weekend. We will see some longboardable surf build into sunday as wind stays onshore from the south. Certainly not the hurricane swell you’re waiting for, but maybe a few fireworks for the patriotic grovelers out there.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Low pressure will slowly move away from the region today. Atlantic high pressure will build across the region Sunday through much of next week, before a front approaches next weekend.”

It’s 76* and cloudy at the beach. Look for cloudy weather and a little wind in the afternoon. High of 84*.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
