Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, July 22 at 8:45 a.m.
Coming to you from the Washout this morning, waves are knee high. It’s fairly clean with winds out of the west/northwest around 8 knots. And that’s almost straight offshore for you weather geeks.
Winds are forecasted to stay out of the west at 15 knots today, so it should stay clean with some side-shore texture to it.
We have a high tide at 11:41 a.m., and a 5:31 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4. Feet at 4 seconds in a west/south-west wind swell, most of which is heading offshore.
With high pressure set up over our marine area for the foreseeable future, it’s going to be hard to see any REAL surf in our future. Maybe some south-west wind-swell here and there, but it’s looking pretty dang small overall. We have another dome of high pressure forecast to set up again early next week, so not expecting too much surf, unfortunately. We’ll keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A weak cold front will stall over or near the area this weekend before dissipating early next week. Weak high pressure will then prevail.”
Water temperature is around 85*.
It’s 81* and sunny this morning. Expect sunny to partly cloudy and hot today with a high of 90* and a heat index around 105* Stay hydrated!
Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
