SATURDAY JUNE 17TH

Clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh-waist
Traffic: Gonna be busy
Parking: Probably not much as the day progresses
Dangers: the weekend

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Saturday, June 17th at 8:30 a.m.

We have a nice selection of boards perfect for today’s surf. Logs, soft tops, grovelers. Come check ‘em out.

Surf at Folly this morning is thigh-waist high and clean with the offshore breeze on this mornings high tide. Looks sort of fun although looking pretty soft with this mornings high tide.

Winds are west/north-west around 6kts and glassy

Winds will generally stay offshore this morning and then rotate to out of the south around 10-15kts as we move through the day.

We had a high tide at 7:55 a.m. Low will approaching at 1:49 p.m. with high tide just before sunset at 8:19 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 7.7 seconds in a short-period south-east swell.

There is a little wave out there this morning, kinda soft, but looks like a good reason to get in the water before the tide drains it out and the winds pick up later today. We could see a little trade wind swell as a front approaches early week, right now looks like easterly winds throughout the week. Also, tropics appear to heat up late next week. Multiple models now suggest a moderate low to develop and head towards eastern US coastline. It’s a ways out but something to keep our eyes on for sure.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A slow moving front will linger across the region before shifting offshore or dissipating later in the weekend. Low pressure will develop across the region and then prevail into late week.Water temperature is around 77*.”

Its 77* and sunny. Look for a high of around 81* and a beautiful beach day.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
