Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, June 20 at 8:30 a.m.

New Salty Crew boardshorts and T-shirts just arrived. Come check it out.

Surf at Folly is thigh-to-waist high and soft, but it looks kind of fun. There are a few waves this morning at the higher-tide. Certainly not too bad for a long-board glide.

Winds are slack and the surf-zone is clean.

Winds should continue variable this morning, then go south-east at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon, creating bumpy south wind waves in the knee-to-thigh high range with a bigger set.

We had a high tide at 8 a.m., and low tide will be at 1:46 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:15 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 ft. at 7 seconds in a medium-period south-east wind-swell.

Surf is small and clean today in the knee to thigh high range with a waist high set this morning. Not too bad for the longboard. We will continue to see this small south/south-west wind swell in the thigh-high range – with a bigger set – for the weekend as high pressure sets up over our marine area, and there are no real big swell-makers out in the Atlantic for now.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will gradually build in this weekend into early next week. A cold front will drop into the area during the middle to latter part of next week.”

It’s 75* and foggy out at the beach. Look for a high of around 80* with a 40% chance for a thunderstorm later today.

Water temperature dropped during the cold snap, it’s 78*, but should be back up to 80* by Monday.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:30 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
