Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Saturday, June 4 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of Catch Surf Logs in the 7’0” and 8’0” range, and it’s likely to be some of the last ones we get this summer, so come check it out. We have a great selection.
Surf at The Washout this morning is knee to thigh high.
Winds are north/north-east at 10 to 15 knots, and surf-zone is side-shore and semi-choppy.
Look for winds from the north-east at 10 to 15 knots today, and we see a choppy surf zone this afternoon with some drift down the beach.
We have a high tide right around noon and a low tide at 5:40 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 5 seconds in a south/south-west wind swell.
WE have a stationary front sitting just off-shore of our marine area today, and we’ll see north-east winds and north east wind swell into Sunday. This will be enhanced by a tropical low (PTC 1) moving out of the GOMEX , across the Florida peninsula, and into our swell window Sunday, leaving some leftovers into Monday. Best guess is Monday perhaps being the best of the two days with less easterly wind, especially late Monday morning. Look for some leftovers on the incoming tide Tuesday before swell begins to move back to typical south-west wind swell mid-week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A stationary front will linger just offshore today into tonight. Low pressure originating in the tropics is expected to pass well off the Georgia and South Carolina coasts on Sunday. High pressure will then prevail into the middle of next week.”
It’s 75* and cloudy. Look for a high of 80* with a chance for showers later today.
Water Temperature is around 82*.
Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:24 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
