Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Satruday, March 13 at 8:15 a.m.

New mid-length and longboard shapes have arrived from Gary Wilson. We also got a fresh batch of EPS/Epoxy boards from Roberts. Shop is starting to fill up with boards again, so come check out the new shapes.

Surf at The Washout this morning is waist-to-stomach high with a chest high set. It looks super fun this morning, and lineup is very crowded.

Winds are light from the south this morning, and surf is kind of textrued, but there are some clean sections.

Look for winds to pick up from the south at 10 knots late morning, going south 10 to 15 knots this afternoon. Surf should be bumpy and semi-choppy later today, but swell should hold about the same size.

We are coming off a high tide at 7:54 a.m. We have a low tide at 1:53 p.m., and another high tide just after 8 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 3.5 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east ground swell.

Lazy south-east trade wind swell should be the call into Sunday averaging waist-to-stomach high with moderate south winds and warm weather. Should be a decent weekend of surf. A backdoor cold front affects our marine area on Monday, and with it comes some north-east winds and choppy easterly wind-swell. This rotates more onshore during the middle of next week, when we should have some more surf Tuesday and Wednesday with windier conditions.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail off the Southeast coast through the end of the week. Next week a backdoor cold front followed by a storm system could bring some impacts to the region.”

It is currently 62* with sun. Look for a great beach day with a high of 73* and sun with passing clouds this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 58*.  You’ll be OK in a 3/2 and maybe booties.

The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 6:30 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:26 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
