Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, March 23 at 8:30 a.m.
All of our full wetsuits are marked down for end of season, come see if we have what you need and save money on next seasons suit.
We’ve got soft-boards in all shapes and sizes by Odysea, Beater and Surf Hardware. Come check ‘em out.
Waves at The Washout are flat. Maybe ankle to knee, but it’s blown out.
Winds are north/north-east at 15 to 18 knots, and surf zone is drifty and semi-choppy.
Look for north-east winds to diminish this afternoon at 5 to 10
We have a high tide at 10:30 a.m., and a low tide will be at 4:34 p.m. The next high tide is at 11:01 p.m
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.5 ft at 5 seconds in a high-angled north/north-east wind swell. This swell is blowing south, past our beaches.
High pressure builds in this weekend, and surf looks small in a high angled north wind-swell this weekend. We see another low-pressure system affect our area on Tuesday of next week. This should once again increase our easterly swell late Tuesday, with north-east winds building a high-angled north-east swell Wednesday through Saturday of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build over the region through early Monday. Low pressure is expected to move across the region Monday night and Tuesday. High pressure will then rebuild.”
It’s a 50* with sun this morning. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 67* and sun today.
Water temperature is around 60*.
Sunrise is around 7:33 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:18 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
