Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, March 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-high in a high angled north/north-east wind swell.

Winds are north at 15 to 20 knots, with wind running down the beach. It is very drifty, semi-clean and weak. Overall, not much surf out here today.

Look for north to north-east winds at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon with a higher gust. Conditions should remain the same all day.

We are coming off a low tide this morning. We have a high tide at 1:40 p.m., and a low tide at 7:50 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 1 ft at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell.

We have high-angled north-east wind swell passing by our beaches for the next several days, so we don’t really expect any significant swell through the middle of next week. Florida might be your best bet to get wet. We could see a significant trade wind swell late next week and into next weekend as high pressure sets up off the Mid-Atlantic, but it is a-ways off. We’ll keep you updated.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A disturbance aloft will move through the area today. High pressure will return tonight and prevail through much of next week.”

It is currently 47* with clouds and a slight rain shower this morning. Look for a high of 51* and sun mixed with frequent clouds this afternoon.

Water temperature is 57*.

Sunrise is at 6:39 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:20 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
