Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, May 1 at 7:30 a.m.

We have our rental wetsuits marked down at low prices if you want to come snag a suit for cheap.

Surf at The Washout this morning is flat in a fresh, weak, high-angled north-east wind swell.

Winds are north at 15 to 18 knots. Surf is side-shore and semi-clean.

Look for winds to rotate more to the north-east later this morning at 20 knots with a higher gust. The wind is forecast to clock east, then south-east by late day around 15 knots. We see choppy, small wind-swell at the beach today.

Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 12:12 p.m. Low tide will be at 6:11 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 3.2 ft. at 4 seconds in a high-angled north/north-east wind swell passing by the beach.

Surf looks pretty small again today for today. Winds switch north-east late morning, and high-angled north-east wind waves will roll past our beaches today. Waves go flat for Sunday and into early in the work week, but we should see some trade-wind type swell Tuesday into Wednesday of next week as onshore flow increases from the south-west.  Nothing too big, but hopefully something rideable for the middle of next week.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region through the weekend. A series of storm systems will bring unsettled weather for portions of next week. A cold front may shift offshore late week bringing an end to the unsettled weather.”

It’s a beautiful, sunny 66* this morning. Look for a great beach day – if not a bit windy – with a high of 69* and sun today.

Water temperature is around 70*.

Sunrise is at 6:30 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:02 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
