Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:45 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-to-thigh.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: High winds this afternoon.

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf forecast for Saturday, May 10th at 8:45am.

Waves continue at the pier this morning around knee high with thigh+ sets.

Winds have started to swing north-east at 12 mph with some gusts. Winds will go more easterly as the day progresses in the 15+ mph

We have an upcoming low tide is at 1:01 p.m. High tide is at 7:35 p.m. just before sunset.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6ft @ 9.1 seconds in a medium period swell out of the ESE.

We have some rain showers and wind throughout the day. Depending on how the wind swings around for the end of the day will determine if there is anything for a possible evening surf sesh. Don’t keep your hopes up, but don’t count it out either. May be a little something with the tide push. Sunday shows winds becoming more southerly and not quite as strong as tonight. Surf looks to pick up for the beginning of the week with a possible clean up Wednesday morning.

Our guys and gals at NOAA say, “A front will remain stalled near our area through early next week. Low pressure will slowly move through Monday into Tuesday, followed by high pressure.”

It’s currently 70* and overcast with a slight drizzle. Looks to stay overcast with chance of rain throughout the day.

Sunrise was at 6:24 a.m. and the sunset will be at 8:08 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.

Cheers!!
