Saturday May 18th

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 7 am
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Saturday, May 18th at 7:00 a.m.

Surf at Folly is pretty flat maybe knee high with light onshore winds. Not looking to hot.

Currently winds are E at 8mph. Look for winds to rotate to out of the south around 5-10mph this afternoon

We have a low tide at 11:00 a.m., and a high tide at 5:34 p.m. today.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3.0 foot at 5 seconds from the south/south-east in a short period swell

Surf is still pretty down at the moment knee high with onshore winds. Unfortunately models have backed off of a minor low developing off the SE coast so not much improvement is expected over the weekend. High pressure then returns over our marine area and the surf should remain down to start our work week.

According to NOAA; “High pressure will prevail today and persist into Today. A storm system will affect the area this weekend, followed by high pressure from the north next week.”

Water temperature is hovering right around 73*, so spring suits and jackets are the call for mornings.

It’s currently 69* and sunny. Today we see a high of 78* and sunny with rain coming later.

Sunrise 6:19 a.m., Sunset 8:13 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
