Surf at the Washout is running knee to thigh high.

Winds are South at 5-10 knots. Surf is and semi-choppy and breaking pretty close to shore.

We expect winds to remain from the S and increase to 10-15 knots later this afternoon, keep the surf semi-choppy.

We are coming off a high tide. Low tide will be at 12:14 pm followed by high tide at 6:47 pm.

The Edisto buoy reading 3 ft. at 9 seconds in medium period S wind swell.

Look for a tropical low pressure that could become tropical storm or depression this weekend. The system moves into the Central Gulf of Mexico late in the Memorial Day Weekend. High pressure to our east and the low to our west will bringing more choppy south wind swell LATE Saturday, building bigger Sunday into early next week. Winds will be strong from the south during the period, and surf will be choppy. This swell should linger into the middle of the work week, but it wind dependent as more storms move into the area.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A high pressure ridge will prevail over the waters today into Mon. Low pressure will pass just N of the area Sun night into Mon, pulling a cold front into the northern waters. The front will pass E of the area Mon night into Tue. Another low will move E across the central waters Tue and Tue night. High pressure will rebuild over the area Wed and Wed night.
