Clean - semichoppy

Time of Report: 9 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, May 6th at 9a.m.

Coming from the Northside of the pier. Surf is pretty small again at ankle to maybe knee high and light ENE winds.  If you feel the need to get in the water bring the big board.

Winds are light out of the east/north-east 5-10mph winds should slightly pick up out of the SE later today.

We have a high tide today at 8:52 a.m.  Low tide will drain out at 2:51 p.m. with another High filling back in around sunset time.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 ft at 6 seconds from the SSE .

It’s pretty small out there at the high tide. If you need to shake off the week bring the big board and you might get a cruiser at the washout of southside of the pier. Next hope for some surf comes as a cold front moves into the area for Sunday, but your surf forecast is looking pretty bleak even through the weekend. Might have something small to ride early next week after the front passes through.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will gradually move offshore this weekend with mid-level ridging, warmer and more humid air slowly building across the region. A few embedded mid-level disturbances will pass the region Monday and Tuesday, followed by a potential cold front next Thursday.”

Its 70 this morning with overcast skies.  Temps should pick up to low 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Water temperature is 72*.

Sunrise is at 6:28 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:05 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
