Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Nov 11th at 8:45 a.m.
Happy Veterans Day! We thank you and your families for your service. Every day we offer a military discount to all veterans and all those on active duty. Please let us know when you visit us.
With the time change, we have changed our shop hours. We are now open for winter hours from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We will still close at 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Surf at Folly is pretty small with a high angle wind swell. It is likely to build a little over the next few days with strong northeast winds.
Winds are currently north/north-east at 10 kts. Expect winds to increase to 15 kts with 20 kt gusts.
Low tide is 12:12 p.m., High tide will be 6:10 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 6.6 feet at 6.7 seconds in short period north-east wind-swell that is blowing right by us.
Not much out there today. Sunday moisture looks to move out of the Florida Panhandle area into our marine area and produce some onshore flow more favorably out of the south. Keep eye on flags later Sunday for a possible cleanup if any of this swell pushes in. Surf will fade out quickly. Surf stays down Early work week, but watching a potential low coming off Florida mid-week next week. Some surf in the forecast just keep an eye on things and find the windows.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A low pressure system will track across the Southeast U.S. this weekend. High pressure is expected to gradually build back in from the north early next week. Another area of Low pressure is forecast to move across the region during the middle of next week.”
Water temperature is starting to drop, it’s around 67*.
It’s 56* with clouds and wind. Look for a high of 61* today with clouds and a slight chance of rain.
Sunrise is at 6:49 a.m. Sunset is right at 5:21 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
