Good morning, this is Brad and I’m back with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, November 5th at 8:00 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is chest high with occasional shoulder high sets. It looks like a lot of fun, with some slight texture on the wave face.
Winds are east/south-east at 10 knots, and surf zone is overall pretty clean. Crowd is minimal and sets are consistent.
Look for winds to continue east south-east at 5-10 knots this morning, continuing east (<10 knots) through late morning. We see slight texture and fat peaks out in the lineup. If you catch it right, you might get covered up and a solid line to play with.
High tide was 6:13 a.m. Low tide will be at 12:17 p.m., and our evening high at 6:38 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 9.1 seconds in a medium-period easterly swell, with an east/south-east wind swell pushing with it.
As expected, the storm off-shore developed well for us, creating solid east/south-east flow and decent wave size this morning. The low pressure situated over the coast allowed for a nice medium-period swell with solid consistency. A tad bit of texture on the wave face, but picking lines should be easy with the level of consistency and size. Look for waves to continue maintaining their size through the early week, with eventual chop and drifty conditions on the upcoming swell, as winds will trend east to north-east at around 15 knots. Should be plenty of size on the swell Monday through Wednesday. If you’re not busy this morning, I’d recommend getting wet out there. Let’s hope for a wind change to the north for a cleaner wave as the swell continues to develop.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will build in from the north this weekend through early next week. An Atlantic coastal storm could impact the area around the middle of next week.
It’s really nice at the beach with a gorgeous sunrise. It’s 71* and sunny. Look for a high of 78* with sun and passing clouds today.
Water Temperature is around 69*.
Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:25 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
