Good morning this is Chad, with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, October 21 at 8:30 a.m.

We have wetsuits on the floor for this upcoming swell, including spring suit styles and full suits.

Also, all of our men’s board shorts and hybrids are on sale, so come check them out. We have a very good selection.

Surf at Folly this morning is pretty small coming off low tide. Its clean and possible some cruisers for the longboard as the tide fills in. Seems like there is a little energy in the water.

Winds are light out of the west this morning. We are looking for continued westerly winds around 10 mph.

We had a low tide at 6:49 a.m. to start the day. High tide will be at 1:31 p.m., and low tide will drop out at 7:59 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1 ft  at 8 seconds in SE short period swell.

Surf is small this morning, but we may get something as the tide comes in. Seems like there is some energy out there. We’ll see, worth bringing a board if you are headed to the beach today. This will be a quick shot of short period south/south-west wind-swell maybe knee-waist high. That swell will fade into Sunday. Further ahead we now have Hurricane Tammy which moves in our general direction before curving north late this weekend. Look for swell filling in Monday and should push some swell into our beaches through Thursday as it moves north. Mid-to-late week the swell will have a higher angle on it as it moves north, but there should be something to ride at least through the middle/latter part of the next work week. Winds look to be side/on-shore from the north-east at 10 to 15 knots, so expect some drift, with cleaner conditions in the mornings, and some chop in the afternoons. Expect waist-to-chest high groundswell from Tammy late Monday into Tuesday with roughly 12 seconds in period as it fills in. Surf is on the way.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ High pressure will prevail across the region through much of next week.”

Water temperature is around 72*.

It’s chilly this morning. It’s 56* and sunny. Look for sun and a high of 73* and sunny all day. A beautiful day to enjoy Folly.

Sunrise is at 7:28 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:40 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
