Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, October 7th at 8:30 a.m.
We have wetsuits on the floor for men and women. Tops, Spring, and Full Suits. Come get ready for cold weather surfing with Ocean Surf Shop.
The tide has it really drained out this morning. You can see some swell in the water, but its going to take the incoming tide for it to show.
Winds are north-west and light making for clean conditions. The good news is that the winds are trending off shore pretty much all day around 10 kts.
Low tide is at 8:38 a.m. High tide will fill in at 3:14 p.m. Next low tide will be 9:40 a.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6ft at 8 seconds in east/south-east swell.
Right now its clean, but drained out. Likely to improve with the incoming tide and be pretty fun. Phillipe swell will then taper off and surf will become smaller as Phillipe lifts further north away from our window. Surf should stay somewhat down early work week. But we have lots of moisture in the western Gulf of Mexico next week that looks to lift to the north-east off our coastline. Models are hinting at a potential low developing. It’s a complex scenario next week either way I believe we will have a significant swell maker mid-late work week this up coming week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ A cold front will quickly pass through the region this morning, moving offshore this afternoon. High pressure will then build from the west tonight, prevailing the first half of next week. The weather pattern becomes unsettled the second half of next week.”
Water temperature is around 74*.
It’s 70 with hazy sunshine. Look for a high of around 81* today and sunshine. Beautiful day at the beach.
Sunrise is at 7:17 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:57 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
