Dangers: 50 Years of Follu on Center Street

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Sep 23rd at 8:45 a.m. Today is the first day of fall and it feels like it this morning.

“50Years of Folly” is today on Center Street from 12pm-4pm. Looks fun so stop by and say hello while enjoying the festivities.

Mornings are getting cooler so come by and check out the wet-suit jackets and spring suits we have in stock. We’ve seen an uptick in people preparing for the fall weather already.

I hope everyone caught some of what Ophelia brought us yesterday because it is pretty flat this morning.

Surf zone is fairly clean.

Winds are north-west at 10 kts and look to stay pretty steady throughout the day.

We had a low tide at 8:09 a.m., and high tide will be at 2:54 p.m. Low tide is at 9:22 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 11 seconds in an east/north-east ground swell.

Not much for today, although there is a glimmer of hope for a little longboard ride on the incoming tide. Looks like for the rest of the week it going to be pretty small so time to catch up on all the chores you put off for the past 3 weeks. Get ‘em done because there is a chance for a little swell into next weekend from the a possible future Philippe. Looks like it might turn north/north-west sooner than what is optimal for us, but should see a little something.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will build across the region today and remain in place through early next week. An unsettled weather pattern could impact the area by the middle of next week.”

 Water temperature is around 82*.

It’s 67* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 75* with clouds and a little breezy at the beach today.

Sunrise is at 7:08 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:15 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
