Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Sept 2nd at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the washout is about thigh-waist high with a bigger set every now and We have winds coming out of the north to northeast around 10 kts giving it a little texture. There’s a lot of water with the incoming tide and onshore winds.
We expect winds to increase to 10-15 kts with 20 kt gusts staying out of the northeast.
Tides coming in high will be at 10:18 a.m. Low tide will be at 4:28 p.m.,
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 10 seconds in medium period easterly ground swell mixed with a 4.3 feet at 5.6 seconds east/north-east wind swell.
Surf again is around thigh-waist and getting choppy throughout the day. Sunday morning could clean up with northerly winds. The Atlantic is firing right with multiple systems but they are north of our swell window. Meanwhile, high pressure does move back in over our marine area and things become more quite again early next week so expect a couple down days. Good news is models all across the board are having the new system the just pushed off NW Africa to develop in the coming days and move westward towards our general area. NHC is upgraded chances of development to 70% and most models currently suggest its track just north of the Caribbean islands. That’s all for now keep your eyes on the tropics.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will persist across the region through late next week. A cold front could approach the area next weekend.”
Water temperature is around 85*.
It’s 76 with clear skies no humidity* Look for a high of 82* with a mix of clouds. It feels great out.
Sunrise is at 6:55 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:43 p.m.
