Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, September 10 at 8:30 a.m.
We received a new shipment of Torq boards at the shop, as well as some new Catch Surf Boards. Come grab ‘em. The waves have been fun.
Waves at Folly this morning are averaging thigh high with a waist set. Tide is super high, so it’s fat with the tide up in the rocks. It’ll probably get better when the tide backs out a bit. High volume boards recommended.
Winds are north at 5 knots and surf is clean, early. It looks pretty fun for the early morning crowd.
Winds rotate south-easterly this afternoon, which should put some bump on the surf, but should also push a little swell in for the weekend warriors.
We have a high tide as of report time, low tide will be at 2:26 p.m. The next high tide is at 8:53 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 12 seconds in a long-period east/south-east ground swell.
The last of the earl swell is fading today, but it’s still ridable and looks fun for the high volume board if you need to get wet. Might want to head to Florida or the Outer Banks Sunday through Tuesday as the angle of the swell goes more north. We have a feeling a low will pop-up off of a stalled frontal boundary late Tuesday or Wednesday, so keep an eye on that for your next session.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A nearly stationary front will remain close by into early next week. A cold front should then move through Tuesday and Tuesday night but then stall just to the southeast into late next week.”
Water Temperature is around 83*.
It’s 78* and the sun has come out this morning. We have a chance of thunderstorms today and a humid 84*.
Sunrise is at 7 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:32 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
