Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, September 30th at 8:30 a.m.

Folly turns 50 this weekend come celebrate!

Surf looking decent this morning at the pier. Waves are waist high, bigger on the sets. If you have patience and a longboard you should be fine.  Tide will play a big part with the full moon this weekend.

Winds are north/north-east 10 knots today. Faces are pretty clean

We have a high tide at 9:05 a.m. Look for low tide at 3:17 p.m. and another high tide after 9:31 p.m. tonight.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft at 12.1 seconds in a long period south-east swell mixed with a 3.3ft at 5 seconds short period NE wind-swell.

We have a little swell in the water this morning and its about waist high, a little bigger on some of the sets. We have Tropical Storm Phillipe and Tropical storm Rina about to enter the eastern Caribbean Island chain. Rina is predicted to fizzle out shortly. Phillipe on the other hand looks to hang on and move slowly just north of the Caribbean islands. I’m still skeptical on what were going to get but its something to watch. Theirs been not a lot of consistency in the models to give any good answer just yet. Other than this current wind-swell, Phillipe is our next hope. Pray for surf.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A wedge of high pressure will remain across the area into at least the middle of next week, while a broad trough of low pressure persists well offshore.”

 Water temperature is around 78*.

It’s 68 and partly cloudy. Look for a high of around 78* today with a mix of clouds and sunshine.

Sunrise is at 7:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:10 p.m.
