Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, February 18 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is knee to thigh high at the morning’s high tide. There is a lot of water at the Washout currently, but a few waves to be caught before the tide completely fills in.
Winds are W at 3 knots and surf is clean.
Winds are predicted to increase throughout the day from the NW then NE from 5-10, then 15-20 knots.
High tide will be at 9:19 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:26 p.m. The next high tide at 9:26 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 4.4 seconds in SE swell mixed with a W wind swell.
We have a mix of SE swell and W wind today. Best to catch it early today at the higher tide before the wind increases from the north later today. Similar conditions expected tomorrow with winds light throughout the day and waves expected to be in the knee to waist high zone. Light winds and SE swell are expected throughout the week, so there should be windows of surf.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A front will meander across the region today, before lifting north on Monday. High pressure will then prevail for much of the week. A cold front could approach from the north Friday before high pressure returns during the remainder of the weekend. Another cold front should approach the area early next week.”
It is 65* and sunny this morning. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 68* and some passing clouds.
Water temperature is right around 57*.
Sunset is at 6:08 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:00 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
