Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, April 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is firing in the stomach to chest high range, with occasional shoulder high sets, possibly bigger.
Winds are west, south-west at 9 knots, and surf zone is semi-clean and slightly mushed out from this mornings high. Waves are lining up perfect for maneuvers, with a solid ride if you catch it at the right spot.
Look for winds to alter more south-westerly this afternoon at 10+ knots. Surf gets pretty choppy this afternoon, but will be fun all day.
Tide is going out. We have a low tide at 2:19 p.m., and a high tide will be at 8:42 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.4 ft. at 10 seconds in a longer period east, north-east ground swell.
Waves are looking great today. Look for waves to maintain their size throughout the day, before an expected drop in size tomorrow. Winds go west to start the work week as high pressure sets up again, and surf should drop off Monday. Surf still looks bleak for the upcoming work week, but try to get on the swell today to compensate for any future dry spells.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “A weak cold front will move through tonight. Dry high pressure will then settle over the area until another cold front likely impacts the area mid week. More unsettled weather could return next weekend.”
It is nice out this morning. Lots of sunshine and some clouds 64*. Look for a high of 71* with increasing cloudiness this afternoon.
Water temperature is around 65*. It should be going up this week.
Sunrise is at 6:54 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:47 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
