Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is around knee-thigh high its rideable for the longboards/high volume sleds.
Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is pretty clean at the time of report.
Look for winds to increase 15-20 mph from the SSW later this afternoon chopping the surf up.
We have a low tide at 11:49 a.m. and high tide will be at 6:01 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.7 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south/south-east swell.
Surf currently showing knee-thigh high and has begun its fading trend. Our surf generally stays down most of our work week as high pressure builds in over our region keeping the surf small. Our weather all week though looks amazing for some beach time.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will move through the region tonight, followed by high pressure through Thursday. A cold front could move through Friday night or Saturday.”
Traffic is already getting crazy. Because it’s 69* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 75* today with clear skies and perfect beach weather.
Water temperature is 67*.
Sunrise is at 6:50 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:49 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
