Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, April 25 at 9:00 a.m.
We just received a shipment of men’s Billabong 2 MM short-sleeve full suits for the spring session. Come get them while we still have some in stock. Make sure to go cheer on Ocean Team Rider, Scott Whitesell, at the Contest down at the Washout today!
Surf at The Washout this morning is waist to chest high (occ. larger sets). It’s weak in some areas, and mostly glassy. Definitely some fun rides out there, potentially 2 turns per wave.
Winds are west at 10-15 knots this morning, with expected lower winds as the day progresses.
Look for winds to maintain this direction shifting slightly west, north-west to 5-10 knots the remainder of the day.
Low tide is at 1:10 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:34 a.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 3.3 ft at 7 seconds in a medium-period south wind swell passing by our beaches.
Waves look like a lot of fun today. They’re glassy, producing nice walls, and have substantial drops at the takeoff. The incoming low tide might bring some good connection to the inside, but currently it looks like the outside sets still connect quite well to the inside. I’d get on it if you can today! The outlook for the upcoming work week looks lackluster, but we will keep you posted as the forecast develops.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Rough conditions offshore today as a storm system crosses and exits the area. High pressure will migrate across the region tonight through Tuesday, and offshore through mid-week. A low pressure system will approach the coast late week.”
It’s a cool 66* and cloudy this morning with some sun peeking through every now and then. Look for a high of 75* and sun this afternoon.
Water temperature is around 69*.
Sunrise is at 6:38 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:57 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
