Sunday April 4

Glassy

Time of Report: 8:30
Wave Forecast: Ankle-thigh
Traffic: None
Parking: Lots
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, April 4 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of Torq surfboards for spring. Come check them out.

With travel restrictions starting to be lifted at some foreign surf destinations, you’ll need a travel bag, and we are fully stoked.

Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle-to-thigh and looks pretty terrible.

Surf zone is glassy and breaking close to shore.

Winds are WNW at 4-5 knots with occasionally stronger gusts.

Look for winds to shift to the south-west, but remain below 10 knots this afternoon-evening

We had a low tide this morning at 8:30 a.m. We have a high tide at 2:43 p.m., and a low tide again at 8:41p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.4 ft. at 10 seconds in a small, but longer period, east, south-east ground swell.

High pressure fades today, but still brings slight off/side-shore winds and fading surf to the beach today. Winds and swell pushing off-shore, with small surf and unseasonable cool temperatures. Water temp should rise with the approaching warmer weather. Forecast for meaningful waves looks pretty dismal thought the middle of next week. There may be some potential late next week, but we will keep you posted as the forecast unfolds.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Dry, high pressure will prevail through mid week. A cold front will then approach the area near the end of the week.”

It is pretty cold out here this morning. It’s 48* with sun. Look for a high of 66* and sun today.

Water temperature is around 62*

Sunrise is at 7:02 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:42 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
