Wave Forecast: Knee. Occ. thigh.

Parking: Nope.
Dangers: Jellyfish.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-high with a thigh set in a high-angled north-east wind swell. It is soft at the higher tide. Bring the log.

Winds are north at 10 knots, and surf zone is clean.

Look for winds to rotate easterly – more on-shore – this afternoon at 15 to 20 knots, and we see a choppy surf zone as easterly wind swell/chop builds as the tide comes in late afternoon.

High tide will be at 10:23 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:37 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 feet at 6 seconds in a high angled, north/north-east wind swell, most of which is passing by Folly.

Today we see easterly wind chop build some with significant east winds and chop this afternoon. A low pressure system forms off-shore today but not too much chance it’s going to kick up any swell. It’s looking pretty small for the majority of the work-week. Hey, at least it’s a good week to get back to school, because forecast is pretty dismal.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail inland as a weak area of low pressure sits offshore. Another cold front will move into the region Monday night and Tuesday, lingering in the vicinity into the latter part of the week.”

Water Temperature is around 84*.

It’s 74* with bright sun this morning, and a little less humidity. We see a high of 87* with less humidity. And yes, the traffic is off the chain.

Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:05 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
