Choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Waist-to-stomach. A bit bigger, occasionally.
Traffic: Moderate
Parking: Some.
Dangers: Dudes who think they rip and need some ego checks.

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 20th at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is around waist-belly high with some plus sets close to chest high. Winds onshore so nothing to great but weve got surf!

Winds are east south-east around 10-15mph conditions are mixed up and somewhat choppy. This continues through today.

The tide is high at 11:30 a.m. We will see a low tide at 4:39 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft at 9 seconds in medium period easterly south-east swell.

Surf is still holding strong waist to chest high on this mornings incoming. This Swell should continue into early a.m. Monday before slowly fading out through tomorrow. Surf stays generally down Tuesday into Wednesday so rest your arms. Thursday Through early next week we will begin to see a few rounds of groundswell. Multiple low pressure systems brewing in the Atlantic currently it would take a whole page of writing to break it all down so just expect a few rounds of ground-swell with varying periods and size Thursday into middle of next week. PLENTY OF SWELL ON THE WAY.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will gradually build over our region through early next week. A front could approach from the north during the middle of next week.”

Water temperature is around 85*.

It’s already 83* this morning. Look for a high of 87* with plenty of sunshine today.

Sunrise is at 6:44 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:02 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
