Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 29 at 8:30 a.m.

This morning’s report is brought to you in memory of Henry “Hank” Bauer. There is a paddle out taking place this morning at 8 a.m. at the contest shack. Rest in Peace, buddy. We will miss you.

Surf at the Washout is knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set.

There’s an east/south-east wind at 5 to 8 knots. Surf is semi-choppy and closing out at the morning’s low tide. Hopefully the form will improve some as the tide comes in.

Probably best for the high volume board as the tide comes in.

Winds are predicted to continue moderate from the south-east today at 5 to 10 knots.

We are coming off a low tide this morning. High tide is at 1:36 p.m., and low tide will be at 7:56 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft. at 6 seconds in a short-period south-east swell.

Surf is in the thigh to waist high range this morning with semi-choppy conditions and should improve form as the tide comes in mid-morning.  Surf looks to remain basically the same all day fading some as the tide goes out late afternoon. Look for surf to fade out some into the coming work week. We see another south/south-west wind swell mid-week as a cold front approaches our marine area.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the area through Tuesday. A cold front will then pass through the region during the middle of the week, before high pressure returns late week into the weekend.”

It’s 80* this morning and partly cloudy. Look for a hot, humid day with a high of 87* and sun with passing clouds and a slight chance for a thunderstorm this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 85*.

Sunrise is at 6:52 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:48 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
