Clean.

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 6 at 8:30 a.m.

A small pulse still showing on the low tide this morning. Knee high and sheet of glass. Look for gradual improvement as the tide moves in this morning. Surf is on a fading trend.

Winds are light from the north-west, and surf zone is perfectly clean. It’s a pretty morning for a long-board session.

Winds are predicted from the south-east this afternoon at 5 to 10, and we could see slight surface chop on the waves later today, but not too choppy for your Saturday.

We just came off a low tide at 6:23 a.m. Look for a high to follow at 12:48 p.m. and another low to end our day at 6:55 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 feet at 8 seconds in medium period ESE swell.

Surfs dropped a bit since yesterday although I think a fun little longboard wave will be available mid morning knee-thigh high slappers. Tuesday, we see choppy, south-west wind swell pick up ahead of a frontal boundary. This continues into Wednesday, when we could see a small trade-wind style ground swell kick up a wave with a little better form for Thursday. Tropics aren’t kicking up anything definitive right now, but we’ll keep you updated.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A weak front will meander over the area through the weekend before another front potentially impacts the region mid next week.

Water temperature is around 85*.

It’s 79* with sun and a few clouds this morning. Look for a few clouds and sun mixed today, but overall not a lot of rain forecast. We’ll see a high of 84.

Sunrise is at 6:33 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:17 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
