Good Morning this is DJ Master B with your Sunday “I’m feeling fat and Thanksgiving-style lazy” surf report to end your holiday weekend. December 1, 2024.
It’s the last day of our “Schwack” Friday Sale. Boards are $100 off, softboards marked down, Sk8 boards, apparel and all the other sick stuff you want for Christmas, so come on by.
Surf at Folly is cold and flat and clean, so it’s a good day to catch up with the relatives and argue about the Carolina-Clemson game. But we all know who won this year, Gramps!
Winds are slack this morning and expected north-west sat 10 knots before going west later this afternoon. If you don’t mind brisk weather, it is quite nice out here at the beach. Parking is only $5. Ask an expert.
Edisto buoy reading 1.6ft at 7 seconds in short period east/south-east swell.
We have a low tide approaching at 1:15 p.m. high tide fills in at 7:41 p.m.
With all this cold high pressure creating off-shore flow and dry weather, we don’t expect too much surf this week, so it’s a good week to get your shopping done. Best hope for a choppy south wind-swell comes late in the week as a cold front approaches our area once more and south winds trend toward the approaching frontal boundary.
Your NOAA marine weather forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the middle of next week. A cold front could push across the area near the end of next week.”
It’s brisk this morning. 50* and sunny. Look for a nice day with a high of 57 and some clouds moving in later.
Water is dropping. It’s 63*. We have new O’Neill Hyperfreaks on the floor.
Thanks for checking in on your Ocean Surf shop, and tell Gramps, “maybe next year, Tiger.”
