Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, December 13 at 8:30 a.m.
If you need to dial up a gift card for the surfer in your life, call us at 843-588-9175 and we can drop one in the mail to you.
Surf at Folly is knee-high and weak this morning.
Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is textured but clean.
Look for wind to switch south later this afternoon at 15 knots, with choppy, building wind-swell in the forecast later today.
Tide is going out, and Low tide is at 12:34 p.m., and high tide will be at 6:30 p.m.
Virtual buoy data isn’t really worth mentioning. There is not much swell out there today.
We should have building south-wind swell late day, as surf gets choppier later. A cold front looks to pass through Monday, with a stronger storm system coming through Wednesday. So, we should expect bigger surf to start the work week next week, with strong winds for the period. Short-period wind swell should start off from the south-west overnight, go east/north-east Tuesday, then go south-west again Wednesday, before falling off into Thursday morning. Not much to write home about, but there should be something to ride to end the dismal flat-spell we’ve endured over the past two weeks.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will move through the region on Monday. A stronger storm system is expected to impact the region on Wednesday, followed by high pressure for the later half of the week.”
It’s 63* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 65* and sun behind clouds today.
Water temperature has dropped to 58*.
Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
