Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, December 26 at 8:30 a.m.

We hope everyone is enjoying a healthy and happy holiday season. We will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Sunday.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-high. There is a thigh high set as the tide comes in this morning. Just some small, short-period south-west wind swell in the water.

Winds are west/south-west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is semi-choppy. Hopefully the form will improve on the incoming late morning.

Look for westerly winds at 10 knots today, and a semi-clean, side-shore surf zone for your Sunday.

Tide is now coming in. High tide is at 12:24 p.m., and low tide will be at 6:50 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 feet at 6 seconds in a short-period south-west wind wave. It’ll likely pick up a bit as the tide comes in.

Looking like a few south-west winds wave leftovers out here at Folly if you want to get wet. If you feel like staying on the couch, you’re not missing much. It’s semi-choppy, and it looks to fall off as the tide goes out this afternoon. Surf looks to drop off early in the holiday work week. IT should begin to pick up again mid-week in another short-period south-west wind swell ahead of a late week cold front.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will stall north of the area tonight, then lift north as a warm front early this week. Another cold front could impact the region late week.”

It’s warm and sunny this morning. It’s 62*. Look for a perfect winter beach day with a high of 70* and sun.

Water Temperature is hovering around 56*.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:20 p.m.
