Good morning this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, December 11 at 8:30 a.m.
We have tons of new men’s O’Neill wet-suits in stock. Come check them out and enjoy this upcoming swell.
Waves at the Washout this morning are waist-stomach high. Surf is consistent and looks like fun before this high tide fills in. Waves are producing some solid lines, enough for a couple turns.
Winds are light out of the north at 7 knots, and surf is slightly angled and mostly clean with a minimal drift down the beach from north-to-south.
We see north winds continue today at 5-10 knots, and surf zone should maintain its glass as the day continues.
We had a high tide around 9:38 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:51 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is kind of all over the place with a nice east, south-east ground swell 3.3 feet at 12.1 seconds and a short-period east/north-east wind swell 4.6 feet at 6.2 seconds.
There should be plenty of waves at the beach today into Monday for a fun little session, as swell continues from the now departed, mid-Atlantic low that pushed us some fun waves for us during the middle/end of the work week. Next week, we will see increasing north-east wind swell with drifty, choppy conditions before this swell rotates more on-shore Thursday. Either way, there should be some surf to ride, even if it’s not perfect.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A wedge of high pressure will prevail today with a surface trough offshore. Another area of high pressure will pass to our north through early week, followed by low pressure and a cold front bringing impacts to the region during the middle of next week. High pressure will then prevail through the upcoming weekend.”
It’s 53* with the sun peeking through the clouds early this morning. Look for partial clouds today and a high of 63*.
Water temperature is still around 61*.
Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:15 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
