Good morning this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, December 4 at 8:00 a.m.
Waves at the Washout today are stomach-chest high, occasional larger set. The tide is going out, so it should get better early afternoon. Surf is very clean with occasional close outs and fast lines at the lower tide. Should get better on the tide push late morning.
Winds are north-west at 8 knots, and surf is very clean.
We see east, north-east winds at 5 to 10 knots, and this should cross up the surf some later today, but overall not a bad day for surfing. The wind being as low as it is will likely have minimal effect on the wave form and texture. If I were you, I’d hit in on the incoming high if you can today!
Low tide is 10:57 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:12 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at 9.1 seconds in a medium period south-east swell, with a north, north-west wind swell 2.3 feet at 3.8 seconds.
There is some swell at the buoy, and we should have some fun waves today. As expected, a front stalls near our marine area this morning, continuing over the next few days. Likely nothing too big, but likely something fun to ride Sunday through Monday with more moderate winds in the forecast. Keep an eye on the swell at the end of the week, closer to Friday. Looks to be some potential for more size. So, weekend warriors suit up and catch a few.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: A stalled front will linger in the vicinity, then lift north as a warm front late Monday into Tuesday. High pressure will then return until another cold front approaches the area late week.”
It’s pretty warm out here this morning. It’s 60* with clouds and some sun peaking through. Look for a high of 67* today and sun behind some clouds.
Water temperature is around 61*.
Sunrise is at 7:07 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
