Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for your Superbowl Sunday: Sunday, February 13 at 8:30 a.m.

We are fully stocked with a ton of Stewart longboard models. Come check ‘em out.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-high. Maybe slightly larger, but you’ll need the log for sure.

Winds are west at 3 to 5 knots, and surf zone is overall very clean.

Look for winds to shift more north-west at 5 knots this afternoon as a cold front moves through our marine area. We see a clean surf zone all day.

Low tide will be at 11:46 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:48 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 6 seconds in a south-east short period wind swell.

A cold front will pull through the area for your Super Bowl Sunday, but it’s still not really looking too promising as far as creating any meaningful surf ahead of today’s  front. Surf starts the week flat, and is looking pretty small through Tuesday. On Wednesday, there should be some meaningful surf ahead of a cold front when on-shore flow increases and sends in a typical, pre-frontal winter-time south swell with bigger conditions and southerly winds keeping things fairly choppy. This trend continues late into the work week, so keep that on your radar. South-west wind increase on Friday, making surf choppy. On Saturday, winds come more north and we could see a possible clean-up. Winds go strong north-east Saturday afternoon, and we see high-angled north-east wind swell fill in for next weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A coastal low will organize off the Carolina coast today, tracking northeast over the Atlantic. As the low departs, high pressure will build over the region and will remain through the middle of the week. A cold front will impact the region late week, then high pressure will shift into the area next weekend.”

It’s 56* with rain showers this morning. Look for a mostly cloudy day with the sun coming out late after a cold front passage.

Water Temperature is around 52*.

Sunrise is at 7:04 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:03 p.m.
