Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high in a high angled, mixed-direction easterly swell. It is closing out as the tide goes out.

Winds are north-east at 15 knots, and surf zone is side-shore, slightly drifty and semi-choppy.

Look for winds to continue north-east at 10 to 15 knots today, with side-shore, mixed easterly swell in the water. Bring the log or the high volume board if you plan to surf.

Low tide is at 11:06 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:05 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell, with a high-angled north-east wind swell 2.6 ft at 4 seconds.

We have small, mixed-direction easterly swell in the water with north-east winds keeping things semi-choppy over the next 24 hours. This trend continues into early work week with continued mixed easterly swell Monday into Tuesday. Look for fairly strong north-east winds to start the work week. Head to Florida if you need some swell, as a lot of it will be passing by our beaches. Surf goes small mid-to-late week, before we see another south trade wind swell next weekend with bigger conditions and south winds.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Broad low pressure will pass over the region today and into tonight, followed by a return to high pressure early this week.”

IT’s 54* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of only 58* today with some showers at the beach this afternoon.

Water Temperature is up to around 60*, so we are seeing an upward trend in water temperatures.

Sunrise is at 6:51 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:14 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
