Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Sunday, February 18th at 9 a.m.
Our 4/3 wetsuits are on sale. It’s still 4/3 weather, and you’ll need one when it gets cold next year, and we still have a good selection of O’Neill Technobutter 4/3 suits in the shop. Come check them out.
Waves are pretty weak this morning. Not much for surf, so stay cuddled up on that faux bearskin rug and enjoy some coffee by the fire this chilly morning.
Winds are north-east at 12 knots at the moment. Will stay out of the north-east through the day, a little lighter at times.
Low tide is at report time this morning, and high tide will be at 3:15 p.m. The next low tide will be at 9:14 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 foot at 5 seconds in a short-period north-east wind swell.
Not much out there today. Best chance might be Monday afternoon into Tuesday as high pressure sets up just to our north and low pressure to our south. This should bring some on-shore flow from the east/north-east. Hopefully some surf sneaks into our beaches without too much north-east angle in it for mid-week. Florida might be the call once again early/middle of next week, but there could be some wind down there, too.
Water temp is around 56*.
The NOAA Marine Forecast for our waters calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Thursday, then a cold front will sweep through Friday morning. High pressure will then rebuild.”
It’s 46* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 52* and cloudy today.
Sunrise is 6:59 a.m., Sunset 6:07 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
