Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, February 7 at 8 a.m.
New Billabong men’s and women’s apparel and board-shorts have arrived for spring. Come check them out!
Surf this morning is knee-thigh high, with potential for some waist high bigger sets. The low tide doesn’t seem to have much of an influence on the surf, other than a quick takeoff and fast break, otherwise; it seems to be holding pretty well.
Winds are north-west at 5 knots and surf zone is very clean.
Look for winds to increase from the west, north-west later this morning at 10-15 knots. Surf zone may get some texture, but form shouldn’t be influenced too drastically.
Low tide is at 10:14 a.m., and high tide is at 4:17 p.m., and low tide is at 10:22 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.2 ft. at 9 seconds in a medium period east, south-east ground swell, with a slight east-north-east wind swell component.
North-east winds may push up a small, textured, high-angled north-easterly wind swell this afternoon, but with winds in a relatively low speed range, expect the surf to hold up some. Low-pressure system moves off-shore today, promoting some little nuggets out there for a longboard ride. High pressure sets up to our north-east early next week and could set up some small easterly trade-wind swell though mid-week. We’ll keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A low pressure system will pull away from the area early today. High pressure will then prevail through Monday, before conditions become more unsettled during the middle of the week. A strong cold front should sweep through the region Friday, followed by high pressure prevailing into early next week.”
It is 45* with clouds at the beach. Look for temperatures to raise some today, with a high of 55* and some rain and clouds in the forecast.
Water temperature is 52*.
Sunrise is at 7:09 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:59 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
