Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, Jan. 23 at 8:30 a.m.

We received another batch of Catch Surf soft-boards and bodyboards. We have just about every shape and size. Come check it out.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high in a long period easterly swell. And it’s cold. But if you’re feeling like an arctic paddle on your log, this is a good morning for it.

Winds are light from the west, and surf zone is perfectly glassy.

Look for north-west wind today, and a clean surf zone.  Wind will switch west late day.

High tide is at 11:02 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:23 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4 ft. at 12 seconds in a long period easterly ground swell.

It’s a cold morning, but if you need to get wet, pull out the 5/4/3 and your log. There is a glide to be had for the log. Surf looks small to start the work week, and the next chance for meaningful surf looks to be mid-week when low pressure moves through our marine area, but still not looking like much.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Dry high pressure will persist through Monday. Low pressure could affect the area Tuesday, followed by another cold air mass through the rest of the week.”

It’s cold and frosty -literally – it’s 30* and sunny, with lots of frost. Look for a cold, sunny day with a high of 50*. It’s not that cold, actually. If you want the beach to yourself, come on out.

Water Temperature has gone down. It’s hovering around 50*. Brrrrrr.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:41 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
